| Bridal Veil Falls is commonly said to be several thousand feet tall. We've seen many claims of as much as 6,000 feet, even though this is a physical impossibility, down to about 700 feet. After much scrutiny, we?ve settled on a height of 1509 feet, are reasoning for which is such. Bridal Veil Falls is shown on the topographic maps as beginning at about 3100 feet on Mount Carmack, merging with Captain William Moore Creek at about 1550 feet, and ending at around 1050 feet. However, because Bridal Veil Falls is clearly a tributary of Captain William Moore Creek, we consider the falls along Captain William Moore Creek to be a separate waterfall entirely, and it follows then, that the bottom of Bridal Veil Falls must be at the confluence of Captain William Moore Creek. We can?t confirm that the falls extend all the way to the confluence, but we believe it to be true. If not, then the height of the falls should be closer to 1200 feet. |
